Take five minutes out of your day and spend it with an old dog. Sure there are some problems with them but aren’t all of us somehow flawed in our own special way. They’ve lived their lives, hopefully being loved and giving love, now they just want to be taken care of. They want to be held and played with even if they can’t move as fast. Each dog wants to know that it’s still number one in your heart. Old dogs have been through the storm. Some have seen way too many and been through harder times than should ever be had. Each one still has the heart of a young puppy. Their tails are still wagging and each one is never told old or broken to give out some kisses. If you’re looking for a dog, go and check out your local human society. They always have old dogs that have been cast aside by ungrateful or unappreciative owners. They need a carrying family and you could make a difference in a life. I’ve always been a big fan of quotes and I’d like to share some dog ones I’ve found that really hit home.
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.”
“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”
“A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down.”
